Review of the IDB's Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism

The Inter-American Development Bank is reviewing its Independent Consultation and Investigation Mechanism.

In a letter, civil society organizations are requesting the Board and Management of the Inter-American Development Bank to ensure an effective and participatory public consultation period for the review of the Mechanism. This should include sufficient time of no less than 60 days to solicit comments and suggestions on the draft policy and holding meetings and/or videoconferences for countries in the region. In addition, the consultation process should be broad and decentralized so to ensure the participation of everyone that has an interest in the mechanism, including those that have used the mechanism in the past.

The consultation period will end on September 15th 2014. For more information, please click here.
